Battlecruiser Enora
Description: This is a Maya render, both ships made in Maya. The Enora (red ship) took about 6 hours to model, don't remember how long the other one took. I am currently working on texturing them in Bryce. Still working on the laser texture, can't seem to get it correct. Comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Well I don't know anything about Maya, but I see no reason why it should not be possible to re-create this render in Bryce (at least as far as lighting is concerned) - as far as materials go, I've never really done anything much beyond standard Bryce and couldn't really say about UV mapping. I suppose I should try and learn.

Critically, the repitition of picture textures is the worst issue I see. And I confess I'm not convinced by the star field. But the best to comment on space is Horo as he is, among many things, an astronomical expert and connessur of space art.

I look forwards to seeing the Bryce version.

I like the model, the laser beams look good to me.

Bryce has better stars. I think they're not bright enough here.

Connor You are my example in space scenes (You would laugh when You'll know how much times I tried to create spaceship and ended with shapeless something). As for me, ship looks good as well as beams, but agree with Horo about Bryce starfield - I like it more.

Nice models! Yes, it is practical to do test renders in Maya if you are modeling in that application. The starfield is the weakest element here but again this was a draft run so no harm at all. Love the detail in the modeling, it is going to mean greater specificity from your textures to match it. Great! You are exceedingly good at this outer space stuff indeed!

Thank you very much! I agree too, Bryce has a much better starfield. This was to mostly show the models themselves. I am texturing them and putting them into a scene in-between school, but it is going slow.

Alexaandr- My first many models I made in Bryce and Maya looked like massive blobs. But sooner or later a shape will emerge and hopefully it will be what you wanted.
