Very nice work here. The rainbow - did you do it like the one on the chess figures? It's that part of colour that completes the composition.

Trish - 7.0 beta is out - but just a beta. You might not be able to open a scene saved in the beta later with the released 7.0.

Gorgeous figures, Rashad! I love them, the way they are modeled, the way they refract the prismatic caustics, TIR was also switched on I believe, which leads to such wonderful stong inner reflections, equal to a true crystal.

Technically, from my maya experience, the current caustic pattern could indeed pass as a true caustic simulation with the only minor issue of being not too accurate, meaning in Maya I'd currently have 10.000 caustic photons and get this result, while actually I would need 100.000 photons or twice that number to achieve the caustic sharpness. That info, Rashad, is barely a comparison, it is not meant as a quibble or the sorts. I very-very much like what I see here and this leads me to the next thing...

Aesthetically it is really beautiful how you arranged your lights to express the caustic color this way. A small question, is it me, or the eyes of the Chimeras are facetted?

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I used a spectral dome here just like the one I used for the chess set. A dome of 64 lights, different hues that when combined create the look of normal white light. When the varied colored lights strike objects, they cast shadows in colored bands.

And herein lies the part that is inaccurate. I do not know all of the exact physical descriptions for how light is split by transparent objects, but I feel certain it would not look as the example above. I am happy with the results of this experiment from the view that it does not look like a image one might expect from Bryce, or would they? I plan to get much better at the spectral prism thing in the future.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.
