Ad Infinitum 2 (Revised)
Description: This is a slightly reworked version of an image I did recently. It's seriously 3D. ;-)

All comments are welcome and appreciated.

PS. I'll soon had two Monster systems created for me at XI Computers.

One is a single i7 975 EE factory overclocked to 3.7 GHz - The Workstation

The other is a Dual Xeon E5540 2.53 GHz - The Render Machine.

If I have enough $$ left over after I relocate I'll likely add a second Render Machine.

There are a bunch added stuff but I just wanted to give you the base platforms upon which these systems are buiilt. I dare say they will speed things up for me. ;-)

Amazing how complicated that is and it is just spheres. Kinda mind boggling.

Thanks, Connor!

This image is done with a matrix arrangement of 1000 spheres within a mirror cube. It's illuminated from the top, by the sun, and bottom, with a square parallel light the size of the matrix with no falloff, creating a seamless progression of reflections.

I rendered a 4000x3000 image with Normal AA that took 37 hours across 6 systems. I'm going to use this one for comparisson when the new systems get here. ;-)

Hey spektyr, nice to see something from you again. Looks very nice. I love mirrors, they can do so much. The black horizon somehow disturbs the effect a bit.

Thanks, Horo!

I know what you mean about the horizon. The RPP setting was at 100 and slowed the rendering big time. If I pushed it up further the render would have taken days. I'll see what I can do when the XI systems get here. ;-)

Bill, have you tried to swap everything up by 90 degrees? Pointing the camera in the zenith. Dunno whether that helps, but it's sure worth a try.

It looks like some sort of alien-tech production facility. Plus the factor of infinity.. - well, even more alien :)

Thanks Guys!

Horo,

I can try that but I'm waiting for the new systems to get here first. This one is a real render monster. ;-)
