Ramiel

Ramiel
Description: Planet "Ramiel" representing "The Angel of Thunder" who resides over true vision.
"Ramiel" is accompanied by her younger sister "Audriana" and flanked by the snow covered moon "Mephisto" In the upper right hand corner is Ramiels' smallest moon "Ahknateen" The small moon in the lower left corner is a wandering moon named "Moche" that has been captured by the gravitational pull of Audriana. It's eccentric path is affected by orbital resonance, and some day it will crash into Ramiel leaving a large crater, and a thin ring of asteroids surrounding the "Angel of Thunder"

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the mountains on the two larger planets seem to be very large. The 3 smaller plaents along with the background look very good. Is the starfield a photo or did you make it?

I haven't seen your works previously here. Welcome, ScareKrow! This is a very-very nice illustration you made, it could be a book-cover or a front page on a sci-fi mag.

Connor, I believe the mountains are intentionally that big, which only emphasize the great impression the image makes. The starfield is quite good by itself, although a bit bright and makes the planets' shaded sides to pop-up more then it should be. Not a big deal though. Maybe you wanted it to be like that. Anyway, such an nice work. Keep posting, ScareKrow :)

Welcome ScareKrow! You made a great deput with this entry. Not realistic, but that was certainly not the aim. Planets from a novel I haven't read. Very very effective these exaggerated mountains in front of a star-rich background. Very fitting colour choice. It would go very well for the cover of a novel or a calendar sheet for sci-fi fans.

There remains a question: what program did you use to model Ramiel and Audriana?

I really like this picture.
Not realistic, but it has a nice magical feeling to it.

Nice work, and welcome Scarekrow!
