Description: Wasn't sure whether to post this or not. It was really a bit of an experiment for me as I wanted to see what would happen if I imported a Cyclorama from Daz into Bryce - first time Ive done this. I dunno, maybe as a background it's a bit blurry and I wasn't at all sure what to do about lighting so just added the sconces etc. and used an HDRI for the sky. Wasn't even sure which category it should go in for that matter! LOL.

Very good.

The cyclorama experiment is a success. All you need is a higher resolution reference and you are good to go. I think this situation lends itself to such a solution, not many scenes will be such.

The lighting is great in terms of coverage. I miss a clear impression of the direct light, seems to be all indirect. The indirect from the hdri is very nice here. I think to add to the mystery a bit, it would be best to dim the hdri a bit, add in a foreground flare, and place a column or other tall object just behind the camera, to fill in the "fourth wall" a bit. You will be glad you did this when you find an excuse to add an object or two with reflection.

I've never heard the term cyclorama but I think it is a cylindrical panorama. It is a bit low res but if you use a bit of DOF, you could hide that fact a bit. I love the details here, the mice or rats and the creepy beetles. The lighting in general is very fitting for the scene. If there were deeper shadows, they would add some dramatics to the scene. Successfull experiment in any case.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Frankly I didn't think importing a Cyclorama would work - Horo you must have some of Daz's Cyclorama's I would have thought, there's the beach and forest for starters then you just add other things to them like the Playsets etc. The one I used here is a freebie and a very old one at that, it's from this site here http://www.jalberts.net/francemi/3dSC/fairytale.htm and it looks as though they're still available, must say I've had them for ages but never actually used them before and as I said I was just curious to see what would happen if I imported one into Bryce.

Rashad, I'll have a fiddle around with this when I get time, I have already rendered it again trying to get better shadows but it didn't make a whole lot of difference, I'll try what you suggested - when I can get to it but it's darn hot here today so I'm not really in the mood to sit at the computer! LOL
