Good Morning
Good Morning

Good Morning
Description: I had to take a break from those Interior Designs before I went completely crazy, lol.
I've noticed that on many sites sunrises are pretty rare. This is just one attempt at creating a morning sunrise. I made the sun a little brighter by placing 3 radial lights with settings of 150 intensity far away from the scene itself.
Please by kind on this one as it is my very first attempt at trying to create a sunrise scene, but comments are welcome.

A nice try for a true Rebel :) Hey, have yiou disabled shadows? With such a low sun, we would expect long shadows.

Remember Herbert George Wells: "In the land of a low sun, even small men cast a long shadow."?

I rather like this, the sun has already just risen obviously and the day just beginning. I suppose there should be some shadows on the sand but the houseboat's reflection looks nice and the whole idea is one of peace and tranquility.

Thanks for the comments. As for the shadows, I kinda gave up after a few tries, but I have the shadows set at 95%, so I don't know why I could not get anything that resembles a shadow. I tried raising the 3 radial lights, but that just made sharp rays on the water and no shadows. Like I said, this is my first attempt. I will be practicing more on this type of scene.

As a whole I do like it. Nice trees, the sand bump is convincing, terrain behind - also good modelled.

There's only one major flaw in my opinion, all else can pass as a work in progress, the water is like a mirror. From this camera angle I'm aware that the transparency could be barely visible, although you should use less reflectivity and max specularity for the water. Use some reference photos, play a bit with the two options and you'll find the balance in-between.

You are correct Richter, I was so busy trying to get the right shadows, I forgot all about the water. My apologies.

Very nice. I really like the mood that is set here. The arrangement of the birds really helps me to appreciate the sky.

I'd say the water is too reflective, as has already been mentioned.

If you had been going for realism a very different approach to the lighting would have been needed. But as this is meant to be a work in progress so lets see if realism is even necessary herem, which I do not think it is at all.

But overall I must say nice job.

Thank you all. Sun rays and shadows were a real problem here. I tried adding the suns rays, but each time they made the scene look worse. Going to practice on that.
