Moonlit Village
Description: The village is the model VillageStreetsOfEurope (beta) by Alan Armstrong, both Viktoria 3 and Michael 4 are from DAZ3D. Lit by the visible lights and some radials in the rooms, no sun or moon. The sky is a Bryce sky. The shadows are brightened by my WhiteSphere HDRI. Rendered with soft shadows.

The model has already a nice memory footprint and I changed the signs by high resolution pictures. It was not possible to insert a character, place it and save the scene anymore. So I noted the placement, imported he character into an empty scene with the camera placed the same way. This I did for all three characters. Each time, I quit Bryce. Finally, I opened the empty scene with the three floating characters, grouped and copied them, then opened the main scene, pasted them and rendered. I could even save the scene.

Once again Army has done an incredible modeling job here, the details are stunning. In regards to the process you used, I too have found that it is best to prep characters in separate files, save them as object presets, then load them into the target scene. This avoids the overhead of running DS while handling heavy files in Bryce.

For me everything looks quite nice. I particularly am drawn to the Bistro, somehow I get the feeling you are one heck of a cook.

the text on the top of one of the buildings is glowing slightly, or so it seems from this angle.

I love it, 5ver. For all muy nitpicking, there is no single issue that takes away a point.

I like your custom sign for "Chez Horo Bistro". It is a very nice touch. Everything here seems to look very good. Very well done.

Thank you for your nice comments. Yes Rashad, I noticed that also but there is no ambient whatsoever. I'm not sure where the light comes from. But it could go as an illuminated sign, that's why I let it stand that way.

This is more then a nice render, this is well done work! I like it very much. It's almost like I'm there, Horo. I can feel the night and the slightly cold wind. The image deserves full marks, no doubt in that, but I must point some things out and you'll tell me if you think I'm right or wrong. So the woman on the left above behind the window - eighter she's too high, or the ceiling is too low, to boost the night feel you might have slightly overexposed the areas (or the whole img) where there are lightsources, remember the Exposure talk on one of Rashad's images? That's it, great work once again. See you around.

I really like this render. I like the way the Brick walkway curves. That alone makes this a very special rendering. I love it.

Ah richter, I love your critical eye. The lady in the window, she's the right size but I suspect she floats and doesn't stand on the floor. I've checked that several times because I also think it looks a bit odd. I'm not sure I can agree with the the overexposed parts. I'm so much in HDRI photography that I think it looks plausible. I agree that a conventional photo can't look that way.
