Description: Playing around with Army's Italian Villa. Link:
http://www.contentparadise.com/searchimageviewdetail.aspx?searchText=Alan+Armstrong

This time I went back and altered the textures to iclude a little reflectio blurred with bump mapping. There are alot of parts and it took me almost 2 days to make the material edits. In the process due to the way Bryce handles booleans, many of the textures were lost. The goal was to add a touch of radiosity like effect without making surfaces appear wet, or at least not too wet.

Lit with a slightly updated lighting rig.

Feedback is appreciated. Thanks all for your time.

Very nice angle of Army's Italian Villa. The descending lady looks very good, the chap in the foreground has a plastic look to him. The suit could do with a bit of smoothing (not your fault) and the skin (face and hands) look oily. The potted tree next to him is one of yours made in Carrara or is it a purchased bonsay? It looks excellent. A little thing about the camera position: look at the column at left and how it aligns with the vertical wall in the background. A detail one hardly sees when creating the scene because we concentrate on other things. Lighting is very good, it creates nice shadows. This would be a sure fiver for me if it were not for that oily chap in the foreground.

If you haven't sent this to Army, do send him a link. He is very eager to see what's done with his models and he's not that often in the forums and galleries.

Thanks Horo. Yes, he is far too shiny. To save on resources, I did not use a bump map, so for me the problem is moire the flatness of the specular combined with the value setting used being far too high. I originally rendered the humans without shine oin the skin, but felt thy looked too dry without it. Some things are best done right or not done at all, and gloss on humans is just one of those things. More to come. Also, I did sens a post to Army hopefully he will provide feedback here.

Hehe, Horo left me without more words to spend here :) Anyways, very good image with the one remark for the camera perspective change. Wider AoV(?) My only critique will go, as stated, to the shiny skin of both characters and the razor shap edges of Army's Villa. The building might go for a low-poly in-game model somewhere, for static imagery though, I'd require a lot more attention to "imprefecting" the edges, stone rails, etc. I guess I should be telling that to Army himself, but I feel to lazy to track this guy down right now and leave a message.

p.s. Btw, Rashad, you told me about your Skype installation, but we never got in touch. You busy, buddy?

I do not have a camera attachment, which is required for Skype if I am not mistaken. I plan to get myself one for the Holidays.
