Salty Sanctuary
Description: This is the completion of a previous unfinished work referenced below:
http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3623&mode=search

Special thanks to Horo, Richter, Ecurbsemaj, and Alexandr for the critical advice provided first time around.

Lit with my usual fake GI system. Many of the coral are from Xenodream, the tubes are tori from Bryce. Sea fans are terrains. Fish are modeled some with metaballs and others are imported models. Light rays by Frozencry availble here in the material exchange link below:

Feedback is most appreciated. Thanks all for your time.

Hey, did you get the hang of metaballs? Those fisheses are amazing! Using torii for the tubes and terrains for the fans is really a neat stroke of genius. Though everything is a bit on the dark side, it looks very plausible. I can't find any reason not to give you a 5/5 for this one.

Wow this is really amazing. I've never really used metaballs but your fish look amazing (as does everything else). Really nice water.

Thank you my peers. I am very happy with this render. Most of the freground fish are imprted models, what I made with metaballs is the leopard looking fish in the background. I could have used many other species of metaball fish but I want to save that for another project. As I study the image, it carries alof of detail so much that even I have hardly been able to take the whole thing in. Something odd is happening with the fins of some of the freground fish, nothing I changed in the settings should be causing thiese incisistencies. If not for the fish malfnctions this would be my single best render to date I feel.

Creating the underwater impression was not easy here. It was challenging enough that I am going to try another similar scenario similar to this one just to ensure that the reuslts were not a fluke.

Thanks again for the feedback and high voting scores. More to come!

Really love this, particularly the light shining through the water, the whole thing seems so real.

Real indeed, Rashad. I'm glad you got the hang of it, it shows perfectly. I'm still missing some bubbles here and there plus the plankton. Caustics do a great job. Nice to see you utilized the Generator for it. I don't see any problem with the fishes btw. Don't know what you're talking about. So alongside the bubbles and plankton missing, only slight depth of field my improve this image. Of course, you are getting ready for a new underwater scene so... I guess you'll apply those things/settings there. Really nice image once again!
