World Gate
Description: Another variation, I still experimenting with creating objects by grayscale image and texture. The bas-relieves here as well as arc created in a such way. You can see light spots on the bottom corners of columns, it is because I could found only such image of arc... So I was to add similar light to bas-relieves. Hope You like it.

Nice you show this variation, too. I prefer the first, though, because I don't see a space scene here but rather some sort of dream.

This picture is set up very nicely. I do agree with Horo that it is not as 'space like' as the last one. Maybe if you turn down the green glow it would be more space-like. I also miss the blurred glow that was in the gate last picture. Either way, I really like this picture.
Planets look really good as well.

Maybe, You are right, but I've put it into "space", just because this scene is the "evolution" of previous one: same model, color scheme, planets and even space, and I agree with both of You, that this is, as for me, more abstract, transcendental, maybe... And thank You for your good remarks.

Hmm, well I will disagree with all three of you then. To me, this version is much more complete that the original. The first version was nice but it was not as clear as this one.

I should first begin by saying this piece is exceptional, a full 5ver from me. I could never have imagined such a piece. I like that it glows yet it still has true depth in the shadows. it feels both bright and dim. Personally, I think it looks a bit of genius. I was immediately drawn to this and the other piece as they do indeed glow.

Lets not take for granted the seemingly simple things you did here that really make this piece so effective.
1. Very good choice of green color. This is a key feature and I know you were very specific in making this choice! Bravo. You have perfectly reproduced the exact shade of green I remember from my childhood playing with glow in the dark objects.
2. The monuments or statues are especiallly well done. I would assume terrains. You really did a fine job of them. the plants bring the image down to Earth. where we are more familiar, instead of everythng happening in outer space.
3. The stars with the soft edge is perfect here, it lends a touch of dreaminess that ties the infinity of the empty space behind withthe close initimacy of the alter in the foreground.

So I will say, I do not see this so much Sci-fi only and I see Sci-fi meets Greek Mythology. I find this combo of old and new to be very cool. Very nice!

Thanks, Rashad! You see, we had the same interests in childhood: I always liked phosphoric things. I was a "maniac" of collecting such a toys, and before You mentioned it, I even didn't realize, why I'd choose this shade of green.
