Elegance in Motion
Description: One of the beauties of the Nature is how animals such as deers, antelopes, cougars can move or run. So elegant and graceful, so inspiring. The idea of this piece came while listening to a calm classical piano perfomance and watching a footage of a puma (cougar) overcoming various obstacles such as fallen trees and big rocks with finesse and no visible effort. Then I combined this with the vision, strenght and power of a famous car trademark. Also, I was wondering how it will look enhanced with carbon fibres, to achieve both the look of an expensive car and retaining the organic shape of this elegant animal.

Technical stats - the puma was modeled in Maya, then brought to Bryce and all else took place there - texturing, lighting, rendering. The darker Uffizi probe was used only for the reflections that define the shapes, the main material on the animals was "Red Velvet" (with carbon fibre texture for bump only) from BrycePrize, coating of a glassy material was applied (for the polish), few radials were placed with varied falloff for more control over the "rim shading" triggering and one negative radial with white shadow to boost the bright color regions (reflected from the Uffizi hdr probe). Finally rendered with depth of field 256 rays/pixel. The "Elegance" word made with EleFont software, while "in motion", the carbon fibres low left and top right along with the wavy reflection were made in postwork.

Wow that is cool. It would make really good car advertisement. The textures on the animals and the background are really well done. Maybe a Jaguar ad?

Well, you captured that elegance in motion perfectly. There is calmness, speed and elegance in the puma's shapes. There is some "matter of fact" normality which makes this very believable. Texturing and lighting perfectly fit the message. Indeed, we hardly find ads that give us such an impression. We simply trust the message. And it's a piece of art, besides.

All I can say is WOW! This does not speak of Bryce at all. Wonderful to read the way you used the materials and lighting, including the negative light. Surely, this piece is abstract yet it is grounded in realistic elements. I love the color red, such a wise choice. I have no choice but to utter 5ver and scream 'til my lungs give out with envy! As you said, you wanted that expensive car feel, and that is exactly what you have here!
