Robotic Egg
Description: Originally this was not going to be under abstract but upon finishing it, I think it belongs here. I uploaded a model of a replicator a while ago, this is a newer version, the legs have joints (might be kinda hard to see in this picture). There are 2 replicators in this picture, 1 big and one small. There are inside a sphere with the texture 'world glass' and for the sky there is a sunset.

Just noticed right now, if I stick with it being an egg, it looks like it is hatching; you can see a little bit of the sky in the back.

This is indeed a mix of SciFi machinery and abstract. There is a nice complexity with identifieable components. The colour choice is excellent. For me, this is definitely a fiver.

You're really into the Replicators, huh? ;-)

It's really interesting what you've done here. It's uniquely abstract, that's for sure.

I can see this hanging in a gallery with people trying to come up with all maner of far out interpretations for it. 5/5

Thank you!

Yes, I think the replicators might be my favorite 'bad guys' on the show. Mechanical, self replicating bugs set for galactic domination, how can you go wrong?

Very interesting. Wise of you to begin to explore the abstract genre. Very nice color scheme. Even for those viewers who do not know what a replicator is, this image is interesting and stimulating.

Connor,

Actually, I like to see a rescue party go to US Outpost #31 in Antarctica and unwittingly resurect The Thing. Now there was an interresting organism for you. I used to call it an intelligent Super Virus. It was the only thing to truly give me the creeps since Alien.
;-)

BTW, I thing I'm going to get back into the Carrara Vertex Modeller and design some new ships. I haven't gotten serious with it since I did Junior (Baby Shadow Battle Crab).

Thank you everyone, again.

Spektyr that model is awesome (Babylon 5 had some excellent ships). Must have taken a while to get junior right.

Actually, it was a lot of fun starting with 8 plain cylinders, bending them, stretching them, welding them together and then tweeking them into the finished model. It took a few days to get it right. I could have made it a scaled down version of the original but I worked in enough difference to make it look like a 'child'. ;-)

Did you see my Vorlon Cruiser?

I learned about shading domains doing that one, which is how I did the lunious pattern on the inside of the 'petals' (I assume they are hydrogen collectors for the fusion engine). It's not identicle to the one on B5 but it's close enough for government work. ;-)
