Arrival
Description: A simple space scene with Aries landers from Spacy Odyssey 2001 and high in the sky a Pausanias Cruiser by Philip Drawbridge (DAZ3D). Clouds and sky are different. I made an HDRI from a Bryce artwork by Ernie - a lady from the DAZ forums she made available for all forum regulars. The HDRI is available on my web site. There is a half bright sun that gives the light some direction.

Definitely great Sfi Fi illustration. Randall Ensley would love this one. ;-)

Great terrain and clouds. Now all you need is a giant monolith. Oh yeah. I just remembered. HAL disabled them all with a virus in 3001. Never mind. ;-)

Is that a moon at the upper left. It looks ovoid like you used a high FOV but the symmetry of the landers is uneffected. I thought that looked a little weird.

On second thought it can't be a moon. It's under the clouds. What's it supposed to be?

Really nice clouds once again, Horo! The closest mountain looks really nice as bump detail in the upper part, while the lower regions are almost ice-flat. Was that intentional? Effective though. The only thing that bothers me is the scale of the landing ship in relation to this mountain. Due to the relief I can tell it's very distant and big, but the lack of slightest haze and the camera's pov, I'll say this ship is just about to land. Very weak dof could change that, though a change in the overall composition is inevitable. Very nice nontheless. I really like it.

The strong colors here are very good. I am always amazed at how much more "real" almost any image appears after it has been converted into an hdri. I too feel that the haze could have been increased to give a greater sense of scale. But what really catches my eye is the flame exhaust effect, seems picture perfect. Very good, as always!

Spektyr - The celestial body on top left is covered partly by the clouds.

Richter - There IS a size issue. The craft in the foregrouund is about to land in the crater like depression. It is not oversized as such, but in relation to the mountains. Please be aware that these are not my clouds. I made a light probe from one of Ernie's skies she shared with a .br6 file in one of the DAZ forums.

Rashad - You're right about the haze, as richter is. I experimented a lot with it. I wanted to keep the red in the lower clouds and more haze would have spoiled that. Perhaps this was not a good decision. The initial version vithout haze is in the DAZ forums "I want to see everything" page 20.

Thanks all for your comments.
