You're the judge whether this is better to convey the mood. The clouds are almost as black as smoke from burning tires. But that's your choice. What really bugs me is that the airship and the planet appear to be almost touching. The planet is beautifully made but it should be far away with a lot of haze between the zepelin and itself. And the starship is now too brightly lit. The dark clouds rising from the sea, they are not comming down from a low sky. This looks wrong. But then, this is a magical world.

Well, the clouds qualify as "scary" this time. They're maybe on the "smoke" side more now, but saying -- dark gray -- in your previous entry, believe it or not, I meant exactly this kind of final look for the clouds. Since this Is a magical world I really don't expect the clouds to be necessary "born" in the sky. It is more important for them to appear threatening, hence the concept of this entire work. Although I have to agree with Horo that between the planet and the aircraft there has to be more haze.

I would like to suggest you a few things, Alexandr, to take into account for that image and/or for your future works:

First is the zeppelin - it represents the main focus in scene, but it is rather small within the render frame and since it's the one and only object in the setup, there's too much empty space around it. When you have a single thing to focus on, try to keep it to the center of your composition and make it large enough so it can take space without leaving too vast empty places and at the same time not overwhelming the viewer by going outside the render frame area (the last one can be intended based on your composition). Otherwise just fill in more objects with the right amount of distance between one another.

Second - think of the "cause-and-effect" factor. You made very good clouds (Cause) but what is there still missing are the small details that make the big picture (in your case the background), namely the lightning streaks (Effect) that come along with the storm. Same goes for a wind in a given scenario for ex. You cannot see the wind blowing(Cause), but you can simulate or recreate the it via flying leaves, particles, dust, a flag or cloth (Effect). So now for your current setup - in photoshop in a new layer with thin white hard brush and some faint bluish glow make some angled strokes to represent the lightning. Carefull with the streak thickness. I'd say the most appropriate place for drawing a lightning is inside the bright spots in your clouds. This way you can justify one more cause-&-effect in front of the viewer's eyes, and that is the lightning's emanating radiance that "hits" the close surrounding cloud. If you want to go even further - place some birds here and there flying away from the storm (you can google both photoshop brushes or images and cut-manipulate them into your composition). If you're not tired of this work just yet, try to play with it a bit more. If you are done with it, have in mind the above for your other upcoming entries.

So you see how a Cause is followed by a logical (and most of the time expected) Effect, one thing is linked to another and another. You are always free to choose (from an aesthetic point of view or lmited by CPU resources) when to "interrupt" this line of events having in mind how do you want to present your work/composition to the viewers and how deep exactly you wish to stay burried in necessary or unnecessary details.
