Dark Tunnel: Stage 3
Description: Here I've added the pipe hangers. This is getting so complex Bryce is slowing down . . . but it's so much fun!!!!! ;-)

I really like the pipe hangers. What texture did you use for the tunnel? Its really good.

Thanks Connor!

It's a tricky job to create rounded bends like that in Bryce but I'm going all out with this one. I have a very deep bag of tricks I never even knew I had. This is why I love boolean modeling. LOL

The wall material is the Metal/Ships/Hull Panels. I pushed up the bump hight and adjusted the diffusion to give it a dull look that fits the scene beautifully. ;-)

Pipe hangers look good. Suggestion: you could also use symetric lattices to create them or use flexible pipes. They are made of metaballs aligned on a path. There is a tut how to do this on either David's or my web site.

Thanks Horo!

I couldn't resist the challenge of creating the bent cradle with the rounded bends on the flanges. It seemed like a good arrangement and the bar connecting them to the ceiling can also be used to secure the electrical conduits I'm planning to add.

As for the flexable pipe idea, I can do something like that without using metaballs. They push up the render time too much anyway. Besides, I use to work with communication and power systems and the spiral aluminum flexible conduits, what we called Greenfield, is usually only used where there are a lot of bends required in the cable path. It's better to use solid conduits for long straight runs. Plus, it's a whole lot easier to run cables through straight pipe than flexible, especially if you're using heavy gauges. ;-)
