Description: That's it, no more scenes with ships up this close. Positioning those ship wakes was a handful. This isn't what I had in mind when I first started rendering it, but it'll do for now(tired of ship wakes, lol.). I'm working on a better one with different sky & water. I worked, off & on, for 3 days on this and today, I messed around with different skies and water but could not come up with anything I really was looking for. Better one coming soon.

The ships, wake and water look very good. The background needs some work, maybe a slight haze with a more different type of starfield, smaller stars and more.

Look at the pictures by Popogriffin and how he made them here http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3437 this might give you some inspiration how to create wakes with the terrain editor.

Though I see that you wanted a rock coast at right, it spoils the composition, particularly the shadow it casts on the water.

And as Connor said, the stars could be greatly imroved upon. Start with the Bryce starfield. As one who was at sea, you might know at least the more common constellations. If you put the camea angles all to 0, making it looking north (as seen from above), the Custom starfield will give you the constellation of the spring equinox with Taurus the bull and the Plejades slightly to the right. The Custom field lists all stars (no nebulae and things) down to mag 6, i.e. what is visible by the unaided eye. If you move the joystick-like control, you can display the northern and southern hemisphere. Do not use the Random field, because all stars have the same brightness and it looks ugly.

The water ripples look good, so does the colour, but it looks solid. Put transparency to between 99 and 100%.

Huh??, lol. Ya, the stars are bad, they are the regular stars in the sky mat I used.
Horo, now I am confused, what? I gotta take more notes, "put the camera angles all to "0". Are we talking about Bryce? Lol. I'm just beginning to discover some of the options I can use in Bryce and now you mention moving camera angles, owww. Just kidding all, also just learning. Keep the tips come, only in plain english please, lol.

I always just import a real image of a patch of outer space, or a build a strtfield in psp by hand. Alot going on here and overall very effective. You need haze here, because haze tells us how much distance ther eis between the various objects in the scene. You can always use a very deep dark low saturation blue haze color with very careful density and thickness settings. There seems to be some light under the water surface, or is that foam on the siurface? Not sure. As Horo mentions, the water has a very good wave bump pattern, but may need some added transparency, or even more technical...no diffusion. Water materials do not need diffusion as diffusion and transparency are somewhat opposites, diffusion makes water look more like solid ice.
