Mountain River
Description: I am still alive and stop in now and then to look at the art work. Some fantastic work being done here. This is my latest in Vue 6 Infinite with some touch up on the water in Photo Shop most of the splash was done with alpha planes. Also varied the textures on the elephants so it would not appear to be the same one.

Wow very photorealistic. Really like everything about it. Maybe make the splashes a little bigger, but I still give it a 5/5

Nice to see you back, RenderMan. Very nice picture. Difficult to do in Bryce with all those trees. Good work.

Most wonderful. However did you find the inspiration for this image? I love everything about it including the composition and the feeling of flight, are we birds, are we in a plane, or are we Superman? The water is superb with the splashes. The vegetation is astounding. Very nice Vue work here! Good to have you back posting images.

Thanks for the comments. And yes it is nice to stop in once in awhile. I wished I had time to keep learning Bryce but Vue takes some time to learn and I have been spending many hours and watching many tutorials with much more to learn.

The inspiration came from the Smithsonian magazine. The main article is called Gliding over Africa. The main picture I tried to copy was taken from a glider. We get another magazine called (Country) which gives me allot of inspiration.

I will try to drop in one of my Vue pictures once in awhile but need to be carefully after all this is Bryce.com

I did learn allot here and am always thankful.

Hello, RenderMan! At first I thought it was a photo, really :) Nice to see you in action and not giving up on CG, no matter if it's Bryce, Vue or any other, as long as it keeps you working and being creative.
Such a nice scene. I actually see different posing rather then different textures on the elephants. Maybe it's just me. The only thing that gives away this isn't a photograph, is the same height of the vegetation in the river. I'm unaware if the height can be controlled, maybe it can. Very good image nontheless. Looking forward to see more from you.

Good observation richter on the textures the only thing I did was use the clone tool to vary them silghtly. The neck on the frist two are the same in color but then the third is slightly differnt but I could have spent more time on them. I could increase the bump map on the water alpha planes and it might create more of a visual height on the water splash. The other thing that bothers me is I never changed the tail on the elephants. But that all part of learning. Thanks for your comments. I love digital art and keep plugging along at it.
