My Room
Description: Decided to do something much different than my usual sci fi, model my room. I must admit my room looks much better in person but overall I think the models came out pretty well. The bed is a bit too square, still working on it. Going to try to texture it and put something on the shelves. Comments welcome. Thanks!

Don't know what happened to the thumbnail, there was a picture but now its gone.

Nice base modeling, Connor! Did you post a thumbnail? I'm getting a load error (Red X Icon) in its place.

I don't know what happened to your thumbnail. I took the liberty to re-upload it (there was a spam user to delete anyway) but it still does not appear.

The modelling looks good so far. Keep going.

Oh - now it works. That's the thumbnail I've uploaded.

You fixed it Horo! Thanks.

I am attempting to texture everything. I just found out about the automatic mapping in Maya. It makes it look much better.

You are the one to watch Connor! Your skills are growing exponentially in so many areas, there is no limit to where this all may take you. I can see a Richter in the making. Two on one planet is probably too good to be true, but hey, why not? I am glad to be here to bear witness to your growth and progression into a young man with a bright future in CG art. Keep it going, as I well know you will!

I'm just a humble artist Rash, though I'm happy you think that way..:)

Connor's progression is more then evident! Connor, you do have a bright future in CG art, as long as you want it and as long as you strive for it. All the sci-fi aircraft and elaborate spaceship modeling turn out very useful for I see an almost complete obj-setup in the above image. Few edges need bevel, but that's not big deal since you're still working on the img. I have one question though - are you using the default "persp" camera for the above shots or it is a new one you created?

Way to go with the automatic UV mapping, it can save you a lot of headaches but can also bring you twice more :) What I mean is that you should use this mode on the simplest of models with the least faces. Otherwise it becomes difficult to control where to paint your textures. I may have something useful for you concerning the texturing, something I accuired from "highend3d.com" but reworked it for my needs. It was a special image, though I converted it to *.ma shader that helps with literally visualizing what happens with your UVs when you stretch, squish or edit them someway. Good luck further!

Thank you all!
Richter, I have tired to use the auto map on some of my ships and I figured out that it really didn't look how I wanted it however it did work quite well on the desk and shelves. I am currently checking out 'highend3d.com' now. And I am using the default camera I believe (I still don't know much about Maya's options, but I will, hopefully, soon). Thanks to everyone!
