Drop-ships in Action
Description: This is the drop-ship model that I uploaded about a week ago. I got very distracted when I was studying for finals and I made this. Model was made in Maya then I textured it in Bryce. The mountains are the same setup that I used in the 'Landscape' picture I uploaded a while ago. Hope you like it. Comments welcome. Thanks!

Sorry for the poor quality of the render, forgot to turn on AA and this took almost four hours.

Great model and nice camera angle. Light is good, too. Perhaps a light within the crafts would yet improve the model. You should really re.render this one with AAing. Man - you're complaining about hours. I start faintly complaining when it takes the better part of a week.

The sky with this sun I like best here. The models I can start appreciate once they are well antialiased and the terrain you're showing them off against is higher resolution. I think I see something interesting around this sun, as if somekind of lensflare was used. That contributes a lot to the overall impression.
Now, the only thing I can recommend for this image and the like is when you have fire, jet engines, lasers, lightning effects even, to use additional radial lights with square falloff positioned within or very near the "glowing" object. The engines will appear more lifelike as it will the whole picture once you put such lights in action. If you're worrying about the rend-time, then the answer to this engine glow could be also PShop in postwork.

Thanks. The sky actually took the longest because I am using mirrors for the background and it made the sky very bright. To create the clouds I used 3 large cubes with a cloud material on them. Good idea to make the terrain higher res.
One reason why I like this picture is because the turrets and engines are all pointing in different directions. I usually just duplicate and change the location a little. I think this looks much better. Again thanks for the feedback.
