Really like the hand and the bright flash. Good pose. I like that the flash is not post work but 3D. Really good job.

Very impressive, the light rays even have a slight amount of lens flare. The eyes are aimed correctly and the reflection gives dimension to the cornea. The shadows on the wall seem to be coming from a much larger light source and not the ball of light, but that is not the point of focus. Overall great image.

M4 appears to have a high level of detail, I may have to look into him.

Nice image, magic effect looks very detailed, I like this "rainbow" effect.

Also the character looks very good (remains me Vitomir_the_mage that I worked on some time ago). there's only one crit: the lighting effect creates some noise on magician's skin..

Great effect. Excellent. Good pose. The bright light - inspired by the sun you made for Fall Foliage? The effect is worth a 5/5 from me.

Wow!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I am surprised the scene sits well with you all.

Ecurbsemaj,

Yes, the rays do seem to fall into the groves of the fingerprints and the bump mapping. Also, this is a place I should have used the SSS, because when a light source this intense is near soft tissues like fingers the fingers should light up with a soft red glow, not an ambient glow but a transparency glow. What I am finding is that the SSS does not work as predicted in situations where there is very little light. The SSS seems to need some support light to work properly. I am still experimenting but I should have a definet technique soon. The room only has one light, the light of the Sorcerer. I think the background is so soft mostly becasue Michael is casting a very soft and wide shadow onto the back wall.

Horo,
Thanks! This bright effect is one I created way back before I ever joined Bryce5.com. I had some early uploads of space scenes and I continue to use this as my starlight for outerspace renders frequently if the sun is in view. It is based upon a 2d image, but the image is in a way "unfoled" to become fully 3d and then it can be rendered within the scene as a 3d object. I took about 30 2d circles, and I rotated them 10 degrees along all three axis, the result looks almost like those Holiday decorations people use that can be folded in half. So anyhow it is one image with only a few rays on it but the layering of these same image in different rotations but still sharing the same center point creates the seeming randomness of the rays yet they remain over-all in balance. It is basically a hand rigged volumetric that spreads from its center. I plan to discuss the method for this effect when I get my chromatic abberation studies completed, I will add it to the photorealistic lighting thread at Daz. Thanks for noticing the hard work used for the effect.
This effect has a weakness which is that it interacts with the haze field, and with volumetrics creating an ugly cutout. For the sunlight in Fall Foliage I rendered the completed star in Bryce on a black background and later used that image as the alpha for the un. The sun is a single sphere because any more than one object at that distance from the camera and it would fight with the haze. I will sned the effect to you via e-mail.

Popgriffon,

I think it was the Vitomir that I first fell in love with your work. The detail, the complexity of it all, especially the detail of his robe, made me smile very much. That scene was costly on render time but the result was amazing enough to justify. Thanks for your kind remarks.
