Amethysto
Description: Here's another nice glassy one. When I made it the name 'Mephisto' popped into my head so I named it 'Amethysto'. ;-)

AHH So pretty. I love the purple on black. Also on the inside is awesome how it is outlined by the purple lines.

Thanks Guys!

Here's a little anecdote for you all that I feel is a direct indication that Humanity is in BIG TROUBLE.

Until I became unemployed back in 2003 I spent 22 years as a communications/computer tech and I prided myself on my work. One of the things that really irritated the hell out of me was the complete incompetence of some of the guys I worked with, mainly because I had to fix the mess they made of things. Tonight I spent over three hours trying to get the local Road Runner customer support people to activate a new modem I bought to replace the old out-of-date one I'm using. I must have spoken to at least a dozen different people and not one of them had anything close to half a brain. The end result was that I got absolutely nothing accomplished in over three hours! I'm just lucky they didn't deactivate this old modem and knock me offline.

The moral of my story is that it's becoming painfully obvious that a good portion of Humanity is proving evolution is moving backward! God help us all!

Ok spektyr I just could not pass this bye. First of all you have a great looking abstract again the black background really sets this off. Very nice work as usual.

Sorry to hear about your three hours trying to get help. I had the same problem when I hooked up my modem with Quest and it took about the same amount of time. Mine had more to do with understanding the foreign English accents. I was passed from one person to the next until someone in Britain helped me and found the problem.

But you can always find the flowers among the thorns if you look for them.

Thanks RenderMan!

I got an email from them telling me that since I bought my own modem it would take 24 to 48 hours to get it enabled on their system. I would have just let this whole thing pass and tried again tomorrow but, as the saying goes, 'That was the last straw!" Here's the reply I sent back. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it. ;-)

"24 to 48 hours? That's very strange considering the installations tech, a private contractor mind you, was able to get your weekday staff to do it for my original modem, also purchased by me, in a matter of minutes. Having been a communications tech for 22 years I can tell you that all it takes is entering a few numbers into your configuration database. To be quite honest, I find it insulting that you now tell me it will take 24 to 48 hours. I realize that owning my own modem probably irritates your company a bit being they can't charge me a rental fee but that's why they sell them over-the-counter, isn't it? As for the information you just requested, you should already have it all on your trouble ticket(s). Perhaps it's just that your weekend staff is incompetent and I should just wait until Monday when the 'Real' staff is there. I guess I lucked out because my original modem is still enabled on your network. It won't give me the best speed because it's an older DOCSIS 1.0, the reason I got the new modem in the first place, but at least I'm still online.

Pardon my being irritated but that's how I get after holding a phone to my ear for hours and winding up with nothing accomplished.

Regards,
William Laskorski

Another nice abstract from you.

As far as your rant is concerned - I've been doing what you've done now for 34 years and I concur with your observations. My last problem I had to solve myself for my VDSL2 modem that lost the line regularly after 90 minutes. There was only ranting on the Internet that this piece of equipment can't be made working. The tech support suggested that I check the cabling and make sure it is switched on. They finally had to update the firmware in Taiwan: I had to explain to them the concept of DDHCP. The modem didn't request a prolongation after half of the lease was thru. Well, at least they said Thank you.

Thanks Horo!

I just can't stand being taken for a moron by people who in all possibility have a whole lot less experience in the field than I do. Besides, why should it take so long to provision a modem 'just because I bought it myself'? What a load that is!! LOL

Very beautiful. There is a great deal of internal complexity. very nice indeed.

The notion that evolution only moves in one direction is as false as the notion that time only moves in one direction.

I think people are still intelligent, they are just too selfish to really take the needs of other seriously. Individual persons have given way to corportations and the company is responsible not the individual persons.

One thing still holds true. The more money you have the faster you get the things you want. Money money money. Then people start to pay attention. It is the evolution of money more than of man that has me twisted lately.

Thanks Rashad!!

Time doesn't move in any direction. Time is all motion in the universe expressed as a single concept. We exist in a dynamic environment, ever moving and changing. There is no past. There is no future. There is only an endless NOW.

People do have intelligence but they sacrifice their individual intellects in favor of 'fitting in', being part of the group, being like everyone else. They cast aside individuality and follow the majority, but who is leading them? They don't even know. They probably don't even care. Yet at the same time they desire to feel better than the rest of us. They want to 'have' more. That is where money comes in. It is the tool used to aquire things. It normally has to be worked for but it seems there is a flaw in the system. The ones who have the most money are ones who don't really work for it. They take it from us as if we owe it to them. They are dilluded by the idea that they are so much better than we are.

In the end what is of true value. We can't take any of this physical world with us when we pass from this life so none of it has any real value except as conveniences and luxuries we enjoy while we live in this realm. We can loose it all in an instant. So what is truly valuable in life? Enlightenment? Wisdom? Knowledge?

I was once told I was wastata/my time contemplating such things. I still don't think so. ;-)
