Bombardment
Description: The next scene after the fleet came through the two black holes. (http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3328) Models= Maya. Everything else Bryce 6. All of the lasers are coming out of turrets on the ships so they are not random. That took a while but in the end I think it is better. Kinda hard to see some of the turrets tho. Clouds look too 2D but I am having troubles make them look 3D without using volumetric. Going to try that next. Comments welcome as usual.

Very nice red light shining up from below. The torpedos look good, the tails are not long. There seem to be alot of them being fored at once and they seem to travel not much faster than the ships themselves. I imagine you did not want to cover the landscape with them but I would have liked at least a few that were farther out ahead of the pack. The clouds below would be very nice as volumetric, nothing will look quite like a volumetric. Depending on your lighting you might find the volumetric easy to use. Naturally volumetrics require ambient glow in most cases, difffusion is not enough.

I still miss some more specified texturing of the ships. The scene in a way strikes me as a prototype, not yet complete, likely for this lack of texturing. I like the gold but maybe it is too uniform. The models are exceptional, I really like the sleek look you've created.

Nice scene. The torps do look a bit near the ships, but they might have been fired off just a second or two before the snapshot was taken. The clouds - no quibbles here. They have some ambivalence and I could easily imagine them as land on a red ocean. If you are flying high up, clouds may look flat. The challenge would be rather to fly through cumulus like clouds that extend like towers high up. In a way, this scene doesn't look finished, as Rashad pointed out, but I can't see what you should do to make it look completed.

My plan for this picture was that the fleet was flying in close formation to make it harder for the planetary defenses to pick them up. This is the scene right when they started to fire on the main cities and defenses. Hopefully more to come, kinda want to make a story type of thing. (Still making the city, its hard).

Agreeing to what's been said above, I'll just add that those projectiles (yup, I don't perceive those as lasers, sorry) might benefit from some glow around them. You can do this either in PS with Outer Glow or in Bryce with ambient raised or perhaps with a really weak radial in each projectile not casting shadows. The last one will require a lot of work, but that's an option too. If I were you, maybe I'd go for a post-edit rather then placing radials, I don't know.. In any case this scene will start looking quite dramatic once the city you're buiding shows up.
