the Bathroom
Description: A friend of mine wanted help with bringing some bathroom "furniture" blueprints into a 3d state and I couldn't refuse the challenge. The main room used was "half" the Attic :). This time the interior project was created in Maya. All the textures were made in PS, as usual. The design modeling of the faucets/taps is based on some reference photos off the 'net; some special shaders called "mentalRay dielectric shaders" were used for the metallic surfaces and the glass below the mirror. The Global Illumination and Final Gather provide the lighting in scene. The final image was rendered in passes - one with all the obj-s and shaders, and another called "occlusion" pass which gave smoother shading in the corners and crevices. After that the passes were assembled in PS along with fine-tune color correction and slight sharpening. I personally am satisfied with the results. All comments are welcome.

Wow. Beautiful textures, models lighting and placement. Looks much better than my bathroom. I really like the reflection in the mirror of the shower curtain black symbol. The duck is a good touch. 5/5

Great set up I wish our bathroom is clean like that :P but the bathroom is too crowded for me to move freely...

So amazing. Incredible. Makes me want to a take a bath.

It looks very realistic, something about the floor tiles seems odd to me but I cannot explain it. I find the fabric to be especially well modeled, but all of your models are fantastic. 5/5

Thanks guys! Horo, that's a good one :D Thanks for the remarks :)

Rashad, the cloth and the curtain were made using curves and "loft" operation in Maya that creates a nurbs, poly or sub-d surface (I prefer to use nurbs for a start). After that I just re-sculpted it a bit and converted to polygon mesh, ready for texturing. You see the rest. [Here] I'm posting an additional image to show the wireframe of the models as well as the occl. pass. Have a nice render, guys!

Well looks like I am late hard to keep up as there have been so many posts. Very clean look to this bathroom. You seem to have a touch all of your own and a good eye for making a wonderful scene. I hope to be able to have this talent someday. Great work on the modeling.
