Lol when i was rendering this i had lights out and im half sleeep , when i saw it finished rendering I looked closely and it freaked me out just stare at her eyes!!
I just watched a horro movie lol and sleepy :P
Even tho she is a Deathgod she visits her grave and protecting it because Death gods are already dead and those who are chosen have a special duty ,One is Being a Death God , There are two role's of a Deathgod One to Destroy the evil spirits (demons) Restore the souls and send them to the other world... (just a theory of mine)
Very nice, good use of DOF in the near foreground. This gives me a somehow cold feeling, it is the colours used but it is appropriate the way it is. The Shimigami looks ambigous - caring and frightening. The wings are a bit too cheerful for the occasion. I miss a bit of room between the head and the ceiling. But then, a tomb is usually a rather cramped space. But I do like what you did here and thanks for the update on Japanese culture.

Alot of unsettling things going on here. Where is the light coming from? Does she know we are here looking at her, I think she does, really. The dof setting makes it feel like we are standing there, no way she does not sense us. Scary for no obvious reason other than i cannot figure out why I am in this tomb to begin with. The coloring of tyhe wings for me is a nice contrast to the stark whitenss of her face. Cool!!!
