Plasmacube
Description: In response to the unusual popularity of cube images on this site - if you can't beat'em, join'em - or at least humour them... I thought I would have a go. Come on armyman and Joy Block let us hear what you think. :oP

micosmic/ macrocosm

Looks like a you created a universe in this picture. Lots of stuff going on. Energy and space. Nice colors too. It's like a microscopic view of a shard of glass. I love the balance of random and geometry.

David wins the Covenant Plasma Cube Award :)

Im looking deep in the picture expecting to find the Silver Surfer or Dr Strange..... hmmmm

WOW

That's fantastic! The reflective and transparent cubes make a very awesome looking illusion. The centre is definately the jaw dropping sight in this picture though, it looks stunning!

Time is an issue

Yeah I do put the hours in, between 10pm and 2am usually - working 7 days a week at the moment but it's more in the line of putting up stud walls, hanging doors and tileing bathrooms - I leave the computer to render while I sleep. I also run my own domestic appliance repair business - mending vacuum cleaners and washingmachines. And in between I engrave trophies for the local radio group. Time is an issue... Yes.

Stuff to use...

The camera is inside a reflective torus that has been stretched, the bump channel of material on the torus is being controlled by a techno procedural texture - that creates the swerling grid effect when applied in object space. Inside that is two spheres with volume plasma marterials and inside those two squares, the outer volume plasma again and the inner a fuzzy metal material. The sky is black with a red horison and the camera is tilted.

I haven't done figures yet, not sure where to start, poser is tempting... but strapped for cash at the mo. :o(

There's no such thing as a free lunch...

Using software without paying for it is ok if you don't want companies to develop any more software - it's not a moral objection you understand it's just common sense - it's like vacination, everyone has to be vacinated for it to work and assuming that you can not bother and let everyone else do it for you is just not a long term solution because if everyone thinks like that... no new software and we all die of a horrible virus. So I will continue to save my pennies.

Thanks, but no thanks.
