Pedestal and Mystic Orb
Pedestal and Mystic Orb

Pedestal and Mystic Orb
Description: Experimenting with Textures, Lighting, Terrain and such. As you may or may not be able to tell, it's some sort of marble pedestal hidden deep within a forbidden dungeon, which houses the power of the sacred orb or something.

Not much to add here except to say that the orb itself should be radiating light if it is magical. The ambient channel is the home of all things firey and magical. Make sure the sphere used has an ambient channel glow to make it stand out. then you may also need to place a radial light inside the sphere so that it will appear that the sphere radiates light. Best wishes.

Yes, I see you're experimenting but.. for the textures - let them be the same on each vertical wall, the lighting here is the default sun I guess so there isn't much it can offer for more interesting final look except if you change its light color and check the "soft shadows" option. The softening of the shadows will help the pedestal to stand more out agains the background environment. You can even add reflection to the marble material so it may look like even more convincing marble. Lastly, I'll heed Rashad's advice about orb. You'll be impressed how much of a change a readial light inside the orb will make.

If you're new to Bryce, then experiment with each thing at a time and see how it works separately. After that combining the effects will be more easier and predictable and you'll have less worries assembling a 3d scene. Oh, and welcome to bryce 5 dot com. Nice to see new fellows around!

Welcome here Kupachu. Not much to add for me. Nice idea but not yet finished for the reasons outlined above. But since this is an experiment, it is certainly a good start.
