After the Workout
Description: Mainly an exercise in light and texture, not so much content.
Bryce 6.1
Enjoy.

Edit: Background photo by me, scene composition done on MacBook Intel Core 2 duo, final render on IMac G5, render time appx 2 days. Room, floor and rug by me. Minimal lighting with selective shadows.

I originally intended for this scene to be rendered in Vue 6E, but Vicki wouldn't play nice so she got the Bryce treatment. I wanted volumetric light through the window, but Bryce would still be rendering the scene.

Thank you for all your input.

Okay. It would be nice to know what exactly was done to produce this effect. For myself I like alot of what I see happening. I really like everything, the textures are amazing, victoria and her gaze are spellbinding. The background photo reference looks very good. Please offer a few details of how it was done. I am slightly curious what type of computer system you are using. If your system is fast enough I wonder what you would think of using a random cluster of weak radials dispersed throughout the room ans the indirect light. It is worth a try and a great tool for many indoor situations.

It is a bit dark overall. Maybe you should raise the intensity of the light that is illuminating Victoria in front.

Otherwise seen in this type of light the textures are looking good. The darkness however can hide successfully seams on tiled textures so if you were to further experiment with the lighting you should be careful if there isn't any seams... just a thought. Keep up.

I like the theme and the clouds. I guess the darkeness depends on the time of day but just a little more light would have added to the mood. I not sure about the banana pear and the coke going together Ha. Nice simple scene.

Yes, it is dark in here but this is all right because the sun is setting at about 8 o'clock if the window is at 12. The clouds suggest this. So the darkness makes perfectly sense. Bringing the subject matter, i.e. Victoria, a bit more to the focus by adding a bit of light wouldn't be amiss, though. A book on the bench beside her would be probably better than a pear. On the whole, I like this one.
