Description: This is not just a remake of http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=1831 but a notice that the new Bryce Mini Tutorial about faking Global Illumination in Bryce is finally ready on my web site (www.horo.ch > Raytracing > Tutorials > Bryce > Page 2)and soon also on David's (www.davidbrinnen.com). This picture war rendered by following the tutorial - which is based on David's Methode 5.3 - closely. See http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3164 for reference. Thanks go to Rashad for triggering off the discussion about GI and David for finding this method. (Plants are from DAZ3D, XFrog.)

I was following all the lighting tests when it was first started and then got lost with David's light set up just because i was not familiar with it. I looked at your first rendition of this scene without the faked GI and liked the brightness but this has more soft shadows and has a more convincing appearance. Great job on this scene and the tutorial.

The water reflecting the stone wall is amazing. The color bleed is very subtle yet still quite convincing along the colored edges. The random cluster gives you shadows from alot of different angles and expresses the model geometry very well, particularly the stone wall in the back area. This image was always great and I think you have done very well with its potential in this installment. That Calm Water never fails to impress, the water looks like one could touch it. I like the ball floating but I wish there were some indication of waves or disruption of the water surface, something subtle as you might imagine. Perhaps I'm being picky. Somehow I get the feeling the room might be slightly too bright, that perhaps the bounce is estimated too generously. It is hard to tell. It does not take away from the plausibility. The floor looks incredible, that material is very realistic! Great image! 5/5
