Forces of Darkness
Description: Another ship made in Maya. Everything else Bryce (besides text, Photoshop). Simple picture. A cube with the dark cloud texture and three lights in each ship. Thought it was fun. Comments welcome. Thanks.

Difficult to appreciate the models, because they are so dark. However, the light through the viewports is very good. The windows are small enough and we cannot really see inside the ship. This is good because I suspect nobody is in the ship but I will never know. Strange backdrop you've used here, but it fits nicely.

Oh, but Horo you will know, there is a little bit of an interior in this ship. Nothing done yet. A table with computer monitors, and a chair and windows. But hopefully someday in the near future I will make an interior shot of the ship.

It fits the title perfectly, Connor ;) You can raise the exposure of the image in PS around 2,50 units. This way all of the models will be recognizable within the render. Your ship textures are a bit blurry, but that's not a big problem. The thing is that you need to have bump applied (same texture, same mapping - Cubic or Parametric, just make it monochrome and put it in the bump channel) plus low lvl of specularity. I'm pleased to see another Maya user btw. Judging by the models, you're on the right track, Connor. I only have a little suggestion. I know it is easier to simulate "inner life" in the ship model with lights inside it when some of the model-faces have been just cut, but I'd recommend you to In-trude (extrude contrariwise) the faces meant for windows and such And in Bryce position lights in each of the intruded sections. This way all of your ships will look trully solid with thick metal armor/walls.

Thank you both for the advice. I am still experimenting with Maya. I am just teaching myself stuff as I go along but I think that my new model is much improved. Thanks again for the advice.
