Sea Dragon
Description: I took some of the suggestions and made a few other changes. This was done in Vue 6 easel but ordered Pro Studio last night. Yep I took the plunge.

I changed the terrain slightly as you can edit the terrains in 3D so I made the sides on the one terrain appear eroded by the water and with PS did some touch up.

I found out that the terrains default is about 215 in resolution and they recommend 512 so I changed the resolution on the terrains.

Much better, but I'm not yet convinced. The natural looking sky does not harmonize with the strangeness of landscape and beasts.

We've got a nice sense of heat coming off of the sunlight. The water looks much much better than the other shot. This is greatly improved. In all honesty I find Vue to be the program to beat, not easel mind you, but Vue 6 infinite is the landscape leader. Vue is extremely well suited and even outruns Carrara in many instances. Just look at those clouds. Bryce can do that but not as easily as Vue does it.

Horo,

I agree I felt like this scene was missing something and it could be the lighting VS the terrains. This was my third picture in this program so I will keep trying to get something come convincing. Just wait until I get the ecosystem. I can make a Jurassic park with a little practice.

Rashad ,

I was very impressed just with the entry level program. Pro studio will do about everything I need for my price range. Infinite according to the comparison chart has a few more features but mostly having to do with animation and bake lighting and a few other things I will not use.

Pro Studio comes with HyperVue which is a render farm and the computers do not have to be the same. Between my wife and I we have three old computers that are only about a year or more old. Yes we a computer poor.

I loaded some objects I created for a project I am working on and Vue accepted them just find and then I applied new materials which looked great.

I will still be playing with Bryce. I was working in the materials lab this morning trying to use a picture of a mesa on a terrain. But may need some pointers.

The light in Vue looks good, but the quality of the render always seems a bit freyed and fuzzy somehow.
