Eagles Landing Final
Description: I created two water terrains and one water plane which are overlapping. I used Davids water mat for the top water terrain and then used the Bluebell Woods mat from the Material X-Change by David Brinnen for the rocks.

The water mat in the very front for the shoreline is Horo's from the Material X-Change but i changed the color slightly to match the ocean water.

Used two spot lights as suggested by Horo. One spot light is about middle and the second is pointing up at the 2d face for clarity.

Again I used PhotoShop for blending and creating midst and splash effect on the waves.

You are on to something here. The wave crests are too high and round instead of choppy. The height of the crests is the main problem. The sky is well lit and looks natural, I like the feeling of openness you have found with this scenario. The lighting seems very good. There is somethind odd occurring with the foreground waves and the terrain. Not sure what to think of that little area. Great scene over-all!

I need to make a correction on my description I did use Horo's water mat then changed it as I needed something with some ripple effect. I still need to know how to use the materials lab as I did try for a little while to add ripples to Horo's water mat but will figure it out. I know what to do but just need to take the time.

Rashad,

You have a good eye I noticed the foreground problem and thought it was the sand because the water was set to about 90% transparency so I took all the brown out of the sand and turned it to totally gray. But as you can see the problem did not go away. It could be reflected from the surrounding rock terrain as their rocks also behind the camera. Now that I look at the scene I am pretty sure this is what is causing the color on the water.

I could lower the height on the waves by just using the lower and raise in the terrain editor. Which I will remember for my next ocean scene. Making the waves more choppy would add even more realism to the scene.

Thanks again for you comments.
