Chess Revisitied
Description: Removed the ground plane and enlarged the platform and changed the saturation on the curtain. Removed some lights there is only one light ring with 7 lights and then I used the White Dome HDRI.

I tilted the light ring to shorten the shadow length on the black chess pieces.

As the white pieces are responding so well to this lighting set up, I would maybe consider changing the focus of the image to be close into some exchange (mid game) featuring predominatly some white pieces and having moved the camera into the "action" employ DOF to give a sense of drama and scale?

Looks like you have taken my advice and put it to good use. The curtain is less saturated and the busy ground plane is gone leaving the pieces to be the focus. I think with lighting you've done a great job. No quibbles from me. Sure improvment.

The table is much better and the lighting very even. I haven't commented on the art-part because I think you are experimenting with lighting. But now, since you've accomplished that part, making the scene more interesting by showing a game in progress would be the next step.

How many times do you want me to post this? Ha
I suppose the next thing you will want me to do is send the chest set so you two so you can post your moves in Bryce 5.

I will see what I can cook up but if I am going to give this another try this might be a good time to comment on the art part?

So long as the piece keeps evolving, you may as well keep posting.
