Very simple but effect scene. But I was tempted to say it looks like we got mugged. But I will refrain. Some very nice lighting with Horo's hdri.

As RenderMan says: simple yet effective - nice pun, too. I wonder how the reflection setting is on those mugs. From the HDRI used, I would expect some red. But then, if the FOV was set rather narrow, mybe not. I can see the fluorescent tubes from the ceiling. DOF used is very subtle. I like it.

No quibbles at all. Are the mugs UV mapped? Very good job modeling, texturing and lighting. The scene would only get better with higher IBL quality but as is the point is surely made.

Really nice mugz there, David. They look like made of porcelain, but then again, these mugs here have too thin "walls" lets say, compared to the more thicker handle. This is more of a question than a quibble, so perhaps you made them this way on purpose? Anyway, lighting seems office-like, and it is very good. The arrangement is pleasingly random as one would expect so in tight office-schedule :). You can wash those mugs, and that's enough, no time for anything else. Oh, and thanks for the model also!

Thanks!

Mug reflection 10.1

The mug model, was modeled on a mug I have which is indeed thin walled compaired with my other mugs which are all rather chunky by comparison. I chose this mug because, partly, it was sat on my desk, and also because of the shape of the handle. It is not 100% accurate the model, I did indeed enlarge the handle slightly compaired with the body of the mug - I suppose you would say for artistic reasons. Maybe that was a mistake. The thinness of the main body I can attest to since when looking inside the mug the interior is clearly lit by light entering through the walls. I thought this was another interesting feature but didn't attempt any transparency for the reason of the horrendus impact it would have had on the render time.
