FoxBoy,

After giving me a hard time on not noticing the size of my horses in that one scene don't expect me to be easy on you. Ha, I was just waiting for you to post.

What do we have going on here 96 toruses wow. In the smaller picture I thought it was going to be a knock out stereo system but then when I saw the larger rendition I was trying to figure out how you manged this. I would personally like to see more color as think it would add more variation to this abstract. It looks just a little washed out but still is a very neat arrangement. How long did this take to render with the eight lights?

Fun with reflections. Well, there are a number of things to try and consider. For example if you are using lots of very reflective objects, then turn off their shadow casting ability - that will save some render time! Also then consider your render depth setting - greater depth = greater complexity = longer render time. Lights... might not be strictly speakind necessary at all. For example. Take your totally reflective, non shadow castings material and make it slightly transparent so the sky behind is refracted through it - this light gets trapped by the mirrors and lo - no light at all can light your scene. Just for example. In this scene, you could also try a panoramic render, tilting the camera 45% to set everthing along a sinewave. But definately, I would suggest that it is a bit burned out and so lowering the lights could help pick out more details in the floor and ceiling.

FoxBoy,

I knew you were just having fun I told you I had a good sense of humor so was just waiting for the occasion to give you a hard time back.

1.5 hours is not bad with the eight lights.

I like it. I like the beep blue and the bright white. I think that Renderman has a point about finding ways to add more variation. I ahev never even tried to do an abstract so I would have no ideas how you might improve it.

I will say that you have a very unique style and I would expect nothing less from your abstracts. You like sharp contrast and mixing 2d and 3d elements so I can see where the bright white makes sense especially considering your sensibilites.

Funny, this looks to me like a car workshop with tyres. I like this one. Admittedly a bit on the bright side but this appears to be your style and I think you're doing a great job. It is not easy to make something nice with that much of white.
