Description: A little wings challenge - some views. Top image utilising Horo's treppenhalle.hdr for the reflection in the glass whole object. And Horo's excellent MoonBlueGrey for ambient lighting in the lower image.

This certainly helps me to see how they hri's vary and set the mood for each scene. Very nice example.

I have to look up "mobious" in Webster I never claimed to be a math wizard.

I'm always amazed how you can create such figures out of Wings. I'm still more or less at the stage of creating a cube. The Moebius band is a ribbon with the faces swapped when combining to a loop and thus doubling the surface. This here is something different but a bit mind boggling nevertheless. Very nicely presented, the upper and the lower pictures are put in the best light.

Great. I like the little light balls. Both light set-ups are great. What settings did you use? Anyhow I see no weaknesses from a technical standpoint. Really nice texture work.

Clever modeling once again! Seeing the hard shadows and the saturated colours of the lower render I think it just begs for cel-shaded re-rend. Though I'm not sure how exactly this can be done in Bryce, there was some specular trick or something but I don't quite remember...

The idea is a kind of extension to the mobius which has edges, so infinite travel across the single surface is only possible in one direction. Here the edges in the complete figure (the transparent one) are none existant so an ant on it's surface (for example) can walk around it forever (as it could on a sphere) but in this case, it would be able to travel ever part of it's surface (which would not be possible on a sphere without digging a hole to get on the inside surface - and then there would be an edge... ) ...this is not easy to explain. Anyhow, technicalities, the top render used the hdr as just a background and two light rings (about 80 lights or so) to give the yellow lights and a couple of point light sources as can be seen. The lower image used hdr quality 4096 and again some point light sources. The cel shading effect uses speculative halo channel, which needs to be set 255 in order to triger a hard edge - I think that was it? Thanks for your kind remarks, but I don't suppose the model is going to be of much use to anyone, just put it there out of interest.

A very cool rendering of a Klein bottle... I think that's what it's called? Useful or not, it's still a great Wings experiment.

The fuzzy lights are nice- is that done with the visible light setting, or a fuzzy material? The lighting effects on the bottom work perfectly.

Yes, that would be it! A Klein bottle. Didn't know the name, or if I did, I've forgotten it since. Just remembered it was the 3D equilivalant on of mobius thingy.

The fuzzy lights are neither visible light or fuzzy material. They are a totally 100 percent transparent material (normal - blend mode) with some specularity. Even though the material is invisible the specularity still responds - curiously... Anyhow they make nice fuzzy lights!
