Daedalus Explosion

Daedalus Explosion
Description:	Daedalus made in Bryce everything else was photoshop. The explosion is made up of four different cloud pictures. The planet is a rust texture that I changed a little and the background is the filter add noise. Any suggestions on how to make the explosion look a little more real? All comments welcome.

The planet with its atmosphere is absolutely beautifully done! I'm a bit less enthusiastic about the explosion, though I certainly couldn't do it better. Perhaps it is too white and somehow not very 3D-ish. I would also expect some stars in a place like that.

I would have to agree with Horo I like the way the planet is done and the atmosphere surrounding it. The explosion was good but as I think you are indicating it could be better. If you do a search on the inters try "Bryce Explosions" you will find some sites. hehe, stars are a good idea Horo. I do agree that it is a little bit too white. I have a new version with some more reds and a little darker (and stars) but I am going to make it a little better before I upload a new one. Also trying to make it more "3D-ish" it is harder than it sounds, but fun. Thanks for the input.
P.S. Renderman thanks for the link it has given more some ideas for a new picture.
