The skin appears to have pores like real human skin. But I am not sure what else you are aiming for. The color is very good. Real skin also has wrinkles in different areas. Which looks very good under and around the eyes. But there is something about the mouth that does not look quite right but not sure what it is. I don't want to speak out of turn as I know you post things just to demonstrate a certain aspect. I am learning by watching and reading.

Ah - curly hair. The skin is excellent, so are the eybrows and eyelashes. Skin colour from some latino woman. The eyes have a bit of a papery look, the left one (right on the pic) looks better, probably due to the "specular" reflection. The weakest point are the lips. Though the texture looks exquisite, something about the glossyness does not fit. Lipstick looks different and it appears as if Cassandra used some (watch the lowest part of the lower lip, on the upper top and left side (right in pic). Also - but this is the model - the top centre part of the upper lip looks not detailed enough to me. But then, the "trench" (donno how you call this) between the upper lip and the nose is quite flat. Now if I could present such a natural looking face, I were very proud indeed. But since you want us to look closely at it, I'm nitpicking.

Thanks for the Kudos guys! Yes, curly hair, less ribbon-like this time. The skin has been given alot of consideration. The issue with the mouth area is party the modeling, she's slightly pouty. The lip mesh and the rest of the face meet at a razor thin point. I think the line is too clean in this render. They eyes need reflection mapping. In a grey studio sort of room there is nothing in the environemnt to stimulate reflections. The skin tone is indeed that of a Latina or Black woman. Having dark skin myself I felt more comfortable recreating what I am most familiar with, especially at this scale which is about the size of a real human face.

I did not employ the SubSurface Scatter as I wanted to see if anyone would miss it. It would have helped to give the skin the impression of greater softness.

More characters to come.

nice work the skin looks great! but it still needs that sss look, maybe do it with textures or ambient occlusion+transparency. you could also try different lighting where the visible skin is limited. and if you want to get really technical you could open it in blender, open the UV map edditor and upload the UV map and then bake ambient occlusion with a light from the front, and then export that image from the UV edditor, and upload it into bryce and place it on the ambient channel or transparency, you will probably will have to invert it first.

Very very good results with the skin indeed. I couldn't have achieved better results there using only bryce and its renderer. Yes, apparently SSS is missing, but seeing that you'll keep working on characters I believe it is only a matter of time for you to make things "sub-scatter" or find good workaround.
In my opinion only the eyes are "wrong" here. Very tricky subject, but an important one. Why not use some high refractive glassy layered sphere to simulate the eye-depth? The hair I'm not going to talk about, as the head I guess and the hair come as a main model so my crits won't be of you but of those created them. The accent here is the skin, which I like very much, especially the soft shadows from the hair on it. Good work!
