Space Invaders
Description: Various things have been keeping from Bryce this last few weeks. Work... GTA... an evil rowing machine... well, things generally. But never mind. Here is a fairly simple arrangement, but layered. Initially a little critter was made in wings and duplicated (many times) and lit with Horo's ever useful Jeeprobe. Then this render was combined in a second where it was distorted by a glass sphere to give it an old fashioned TV tube shape and a row of glowing critters insterted in a more conventional patter. Then I added text in PSP8 and finally a few little vector graphics for the sake of interest. So I hope you find the final concoction, interesting...

Haha - reminds me of my old ZX80 but it might be a Comodore PET, judging from the Rockwell 6502 processor - yes, also the assembler snipped reminds me of the 6502. Absolutely cool idea! Love it.

Machine-code, basic-programming, and commodore64-poking in one screendump!
I love the blue colouring of it.
Make me want to play these old games again.
Nice!

P.S. Did the earthquake hit your Town?

Glad to see from you again David. These critters are alot of fun. What's old is new again. I really like the way the probe has illuminated the citters.

Yup, these critters bring a lot of memories back. Very good lighting as usual and post-composition! Deserved 5er, David!

Ha, thanks! I thought it might appeal to some of the older programmers out there. The BBC microcomputer was also based around the old 6502 I believe. Perhaps also the Tangerine... probably quite a few of the early machines. Yes, Retro graphics, as Rashad points out, what is old is new, everything goes in cycles, getting recycled, because there is nothing new under the sun.

Earthquake did indeed visit us here in Mablethorpe, we are less than an hours drive from the epicentre, it scarred me half to death, I didn't know what was happening, I just woke up in the dark with a strange sensation of vertigo accompanied by a subterrainian rumbling noise. Nothing too drastic on the damage front I'm pleased to say, just knocked over some dvd's on a shelf in my office.
