Impending Doom
Description: Finally got around to reinstalling bryce, and after messing with it for a while I defaulted to a landscape. Lit with a lightdome and shadows turned off, it made things glow.

Though I made this sometime near Christmas, I came back to it after starting a tone, color, and composition class and went crazy trying to change tiny little things with it in photoshop.

The angle of view and the scenery are excellent. Apart from the foreground, which is very nice, I could point to a real place where this could be. Near and far water is very nice, the sky looks quite natural to me. I'm a bit less enthusiastic about the green middleground. I think it could be improved upon. It doesn't spoil the overall impression, though. I know the Bryce sun is a meager light but I wonder how this render would look like with a sun supported by a radial, shadows enabled at 50 to 75% and a few supportimg radials without casting shadows. Just a thought. I repeat - I like that angle of view very much.

5/5 Excellent bryce work here. The light dome is most effective. Light domes are always great. David will likely agree that the vegetation green is a bit high in color saturation. Less color would look more natural if that is your goal. The water effects are terrific. Love the haze and love the softening with distance.I think the ground on the left needs some bumo so that it looks more like grass and less flat. But over-all, this is a sure masterpiece!

Green!

I dunno, I really like how Green the green is.. it's the part that makes me feel happy I think. Or its the blue in the water, I don't know, but the color saturation is awesome I say!

A Fairy-tale within Bryce!! I'm not exactly sure what you did with PS on postwork, but both my thumbs are up, Tyler! So precious, so cartoon-style, that's what I love about it. The "milky" matte green is as mentioned the most magnetic factor to look at, and say combined with the waves, apealing "soft" foreground and this misty sky.. all of that supports the cartoon-finish of the piece. Very nice material on the right tree btw, the bump seems to be working quite nicely.

As a "critical" point I'd say that maybe a butterfly or two, a partly shown animal will perhaps give an extra charm to this work, which as beautiful as it is lacks some expected (though not 100%) fauna. Overall some very good color choices you've made here, the lighting applied contibutes a lot to the scene. Full marks from me.

Wonderful. The overall impresseion is most fantastic. After reading the later comments I can see that the colors do indeed help contribute to the fairytale feel. The saturation seems to brighten the image. It is a part of the magic. Also, I have no idea what David will perceive, please disregard the previous post reference. David has often noted my images for greeness. but then again I have never attempted intentionally a fairytale look. I particularly like the blurred look to the reflections on the water. The overall light play provides the image a very nice finish.
