Luxor Grand
Description: The atrium and the buildings outside are four incarnations of the ?Tech Building? by Dan Whiteside (http://www.bryceworks.com/), the seats I got from a site featuring free Space Odyssey 2001 objects, the material applied is ?Woven Fluff? by David, but not volumetric and with changed pattern size and orientation. Lit by the HDRI ?FireCubeBlue-400? I created for David from two of his artworks.

I intended to render this with quality 16 and soft shadows but it took very long and even with 64 rays per pixel, noise was obvious on the shadows. So I resorted to use a quality of 256 to distribute the shadows cast from the atrium's frame and it rendered in no time: just short of 24 hours. The probe was tilted Y=60?, intensity is at 6.5 and effect at 40. The HDRI was rendered as background makes up the sky.

I love it. Very nice indoor/outdoor render. The shadow bands are not easy to remedy. The only thing I can think of would be to add a busier material to the ground plane to break up the banding of the shadows. But I really like the simplistic flooring as there are plenty of other patterns for the eye to follow.

It comes in a little bit too blue for me. If only you could slightly lower the saturation of the hdri. Too bad bryce does not allow such options. 5/5

Yes Rashad, a bit on the blue side. After that yellowish thing, I probably needed a change and flipped from one side to the other :) The floor is already very busy with the shadow patterns and I did not want to increase that. And bump just looked ugly. Yes, a colour saturation control is badly needed. DAZ was made aware of this a long time ago and there were also promises.

Thank you gat, I'm glad you like it, too.

Horo, I did not state my thoughts clearly. I agree that with the business of the shadows falling onto the floor would be prohibitive to add a floor texture. We agree completely.
