Wood and sand look quite good. The bunches of grass are good, too - perhaps a bit green.

Your ibl lighting is very effective! Love it so far. It is going extremely well. Notice the mapping of the wood texture, the seams are a bit obvious. But the lighting is spot on for maximum realism. I like the balance between the direct and the indirect light coming from the sky. Would you be willing to share the exact hdri method and other lights you have used for this image?

The shadow softness makes me curious about something also, but I will wait to ask you about that after some more comments come in.

A good "natural" balance of contrast and colour in this image. Not sure what the light conditions might be, a hazy morning where the sun is just breaking through the mist... but then I would have expected stronger shadows. Ground looks almost like it might be ambient... although I wouldn't put much store by that observation - except that there are strong shadows on the underside of the branch. All very interesting.

I have an observation about the shadows and the softness of them. Shadows in nature tend to soften based upon the width of the lightsource and the distance away that a lightsource is located. The closer the lightsource the wider it will appear in relationship to the models and therefore the softer the shadows it will give. The shadows above are very very soft for an outdoor scenario, where the sun though large, is still many millions of miles away. The shadows above look like they come from a wide and very close range lightsource, like an indoor lamp. The sun gives much harder shadows than a lamp. My guess is that you are using an hdri that has a very wide bright spot, much wider than the sun appears in the sky in nature. This is one of the mistakes I made with my first blueskywithsun34.hdri I have since learned that for outdoors the sunspots need to not be so large that they soften the shadows as much as an indoor lamp would. Shadows should soften outdoor surely, but not this much. Something to keep in minds as you develop your tastes for hdri lighting.
