I'm glad you said it yourself. That was my first thought: a fish tank, not deep sea. As you say, you have tried. You can go from here, because it looks already very nice. I think the aquarium-look comes from the size of what's in there. Everything looks excellent when viewed isolated. Perhaps the half burried anchor is too large.

The fish tank impression does not bother me at all. I really like the haze settings for the thickness and murkiness it gives the water.

If you were going for a more realistic image then you would need to figure out how to assign the proper amount of sunlight. Deep in the water little light from the sun reaches the sea bottom. This for tme is the only thing that looks fishtank like about it so far. Also, the color saturations would need to be pulled back alot, as real life is a bit more greyscale. But realism need not be the goal here. I like it just the way it is for me don't change a thing.

Appart from the curious "in minature" effect that has been observed and the moire pattern in the green water - possibly a high frequency in the water plane? I don't know. Everything looks good. I think it would be worth tinkering around with the lighting, colour balance and perhaps the FOV - one way or the other, just to see what impact it has. Good work, never the easiest of subjects is deep water.
