The Sign
Description: This is a work I starded almost two years ago. The near building is ?Condemned? from DAZ3D, the pipes are from the interior of that building. The rest is some terrains and booleans. For the bridge, the stone bricks and the floor I used David's ?Weather beaten concrete? material (see ?GT500 underground?, image_id=1468). The scene is lit by the backdrop HDRI ?Inferno? I made for David from one of his artworks some time ago. The HDRI is rotated to 275? and tilted to -30?; quality 128 was used, intensity set to 3 and effect to 6. There is one additional radial, faint with square falloff just to light the sig.

I can see this happen, 5/5. Sky/fog transition is very good, makes it all fit together.

I think the haze is a bit too overpowering, too much yellowness. But otherwise I think it looks cool as heck. Perhaps the city in the background could use a different material. The cracks look amazing! Is the sky an hdri background?

I agree with Rashad's comment about the city in the background. The form is good, but I'm not overly keen on the material choice. I disagree about the haze, I like that. And yes, Rashad, I believe the sky is the hdr background image. The crack in the gound is excellent, I like the bridge overhead, the blocks, your "hidden" signature, placement of the other buildings. If I were to suggest any additions, I think maybe some more debris scattered around would not go amiss. I will curelly suggest 4/5 with the hope that you will make a few minor changes.

Thanks! Yes, the HDRI is rendered as background, that's David's Inferno. I agree about the far buildings, I stand to the haze and I'm not convinced about the debris, but I will give that a try. After all, the man-like crack in the foreground is what this is all about and I don't like to pull too much attention away from it. Nevertheless, be assured that your constructive critique is much appreciated.

I had good results when using volume material to show decay. I will see if I can upload the result.
