Liquid Colors 3
Description: If you liked the last one you're going to flip out when you see this one. I don't think the final render will have the same jittery border passing through it since I made some major changes. I'm rendering this one with RPP=16 and RD=3 so it is rendering faster and should only take a few days to finish but I'm expecting it to look pretty clean. I also tuned the sunlight on to give it that white speularity that should make it look more liquidy.

Dominating black... as if someone was reading my mind. I like it, and I'm serious as is your latest work. I can almost see this version of the image with only three colors - red, black and blue and I'm really anxious to see the final video (which obviously will have more colored arsenal :) ) Fine work.

Thank you Richter!

The new one will use 2 light rings rotating in opposite directions so the colors will change differently from the last. I lowered the specular halo level to give it more dimensionality so it will have more contrast.

Looks like this production will be delayed. I'm having some OS problems on my main workstation....AGAIN! Looks like another reinstallation coming. I think we should all suggest to DAZ3D to create a Solaris (or universal Linux) version of Bryce, Carrara and everything else. I'm tired of Windows instability. :-(

Beautiful! Another great job of yours worth a fiver. Bryce on Linux: nothing new, DAZ has been made aware of that wish for almost 2 years.

Thanks Guys!

Horo-
So why haven't they come up with Linux versions yet? Are they even considering it?

David-
I stared posting more images to DAZ this month. I haven't sent them this one yet but I will. The last voucher I won helped me buy the Carrara 6 Pro upgrade and if I win one or two this month I'll go for Hexagon. ;-)

Or perhaps Bill Gates gave them an incentive to ignore Linux? I really wouldn't put it past him. I believe that's how he has kept his monopoly on the operating system market all these years. In my opinion, the man is a real worm.

spektyr-

make sure to download trial version of Hexagon and make sure that it functions properly on your computer. What you need to do is apply smooth level 2 to a square and then try moving it around and extruding it. Try making something out of it and if it doesn't crash of freez up on you after 30 minutes of messing with hexagon then you should be good. Also, what kind of graphics card do you have and what version of OpenGL does it support?

I'm running an ATI Radeon 9600 with 256 meg.
OpenGL Ver. 6.14.10.6956

I don't think this system will have a problem with it but I'll get the demo and test it out anyway. Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

Update

I'm restarting the render at a smaller size, 20 fps and shortened the duration to 15 seconds. These long renders are starting to get on my nerves. I changed the spheres into meta balls so that slows things down a bit. Besides, I've been reripping my entire music collection of 300+ albums and it's been slowing the render down since I'm only using two systems for it. I'm almost finished ripping and then I'll put 'andromeda' - that's the neme of my workstation - back on the job. It should take 2 days or less to finish and it should still look pretty impressive. :-)
