3 Coloured Spheres
3 Coloured Spheres

3 Coloured Spheres
Description: A redo of a project to test and compare Bryce 6.0 vs. Bryce 6.1 IBL I did a year ago. Nothing fancy, really. The Girl is from DAZ3d, the spheres are partly transparent, fully reflecting and the colour comes from the Metallicity setting. The signature is a terrain - I'm trying to make this a bit less offending and unique at the same time. Lit by my Indoor HDRI, an early experiment of a Bryce generated light probe using the building from David's and my tutorial ?Wings3D/Bryce: Building?. The settings are Quality 256, Intensity 2, Effect 6. Rather swift to render in about as many hours as there are spheres.

Reflections are very effective in this scene, dominating almost. Here the slightly blurred nature of the HDR as a background seems to help with the overall effect. The model inside the blue sphere is rather overpowered by the reflection and if intended as a feature of the image, then could do with some trick to make her more prominent. This inverted triangle composition works well with the "falling" figure in the bubble, but inevitably leaves the viewer feeling a little uncomfortable. A good piece.

Please let the poor girl out of there! ;-)

This one's a real shine fest! The HDR works really well. Nice!

The scene feels very tangible. The lighting works very very well. I very much like the way the light strikes the models. This is greatly helped by the reflections. Agreed with David that the reflections are perhaps a bit strong, but I feel like if you'v e got it, flaunt it. Bryce is very good with reflections and this piece proves it. Great!
