Astrominer
Description: An image made for Horo to show off his hdr manufacturing skills. The Bug was a free model from DAZ and the asteroid was made by me in Wings3D. Lit entirely with DungeonDimension1000.hdr, made by Horo from one of my previous renders. So you see, there is quite a degree of coopperation involved. Clearly, there is no explination in the scene where all this nice mulitcoloured light is comeing from, so it is not a very realistic space scene in that respect, but the hdr does I think you will agree provide a very good quality of lighting that shows off the 3D nature of the models in this scene.

Yes, the hdri looks great. Is the material used for the asteroids the same as those used for rocky formations in one of your other recent inages? I cannot remember the name of it now, but I think you might know what I'm talking about.

Rashad is refering to Forbidden(ish), I reckon. Even though this does not look like an usual space scene, it is very charming. Space is a weird place and what we think a space scene ought to look like is what we have been indoctrinated by movies. Space is the last frontier for the artist, too. I love this picture, it shows a "warm" space. Lit with only one light, the appencices to the hull of the Bug would cast many shaodws and here the hdri lights them all up. The brightness at left hints to a reddish light source that explains the red light on the Bug. Obviously, there is a bright star above at right that is responsible for the bright white light. Comperatively simple scene with a lot of appeal and an excellent example of IBL use.

Here I am fighting my way back from my own 'Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul' ;-)

The asteroid material looks like sand stone replete with bubbles. Nice. The model is fabulous as ususal. :-) Well done!

Just a heads up, I have an interesting new Rainbow Dimensions image working. I should have it posted soon. :-)
