Render Agony (We urgently need a faster renderer for Bryce)
Description: Aiko 3 is from DAZ3D, to which gallery I've uploaded this one to make a point. The burning head is a terrain made from a hightmap of my face set within a sphere with the adjusted ?Azathoth Plasma Volume Fire? by David. The base for the HDRI is the same as used on Headland, but elaborately processed using a selfmade convolving filter and some mathematical functions in HDRShop (WestRoomDayTechno). A small version of ?Mirrorball in Ashtray? is being rendered and visible on the monitor of my old machine. The HDRI is rotated to 120?, quality 16, intensity 11 and effect 60.

5/5! i LOVE IT. The colors are terrific. I feel like the render was slow but just how slow was it? The fire looks amazing, very much of real fire!!!

Psycodelic - which I may have spelt wrong... but anyway, it clearly is. At first my eye was tricked into seeing a cityscape, then slowly my brain got to grips with the situation. Your model really does look like she is touching the top of the computer case, which is an achievement with the hdri as a background because usually the difference in the quailty of the rendered scene and the background is such that they seem quite remote. The inclusion of the mask in flames is a bizzare element, and I imagine that it was those flames that caused so much grief with the renderer. As a whole I'm not entirely convinced by the scene, but such is more a matter of taste than an criticism of your technical expertise, which as usual is well informed and of a very high standard.

Thanks for your comments. Fact is, the hdri background is the result of more or less aimless tinkering with HDRShop. The top left part does look a bit like city lights but are actually leaves of a plant. The burning head came as as a second thought to give this a weird focus and point to the agony of the computer is going to burn up and the long wait to see the result.

Rashad - in fact, this is the antitesis of a long render - the proverbial exception of the rule. Not even 30 minutes. Maybe thanks to the fairy who talked the computer to keep cool.
