Nice. It appears that the scene is lit by an HDRI that is rendered as backdrop as well. The render is in good quality.

Is it a true hdri or just reflection mapping? I see none of the many shadows I should be seeing from an ibl. Anyhow I think the scene looks good and I have never heard of this software. I want to see more.

HDR is used for the reflections. I think I used 3 or 4 lights.
Art of Illusion is freeware.
If want to know more about it here are some links: http://www.artofillusion.org/ http://www.friendlyskies.net/aoiforum/ http://www.housepixels.com/aoitiki/tiki-index.php?page=Tutorials
If you give AOI a chance you may like it.
I downloaded and tried it a while back and did not like it. When the new version cane out I tried it again then found the forum and have been using it
almost a month or so now.
When I first tried it did not know all the tools it had, I just went with my first impression. I must say I,m hooked on AOI now. Well a least till I can afford something else.

This has a good 3D look and the hdri-like reflection off the objects is high quality. I'll have to check this new software out. ;-)

Yes, AoI IS a good software. Nice to see you handling it well. The renderer this freeware piece is providing does great job. Looking forward to see more pix made with that program from you, Scrog!
