Kiss - Side
Description: I think you know what HDRI this is Horo, I haven't tested the pool one yet. But this one provided very good lighting, even better then the Japanese one. Thanks!

Lipstick!

I used black color and some reflection, and a lot of metalicy.

Let's see. I've been called a rock head in the past, by a guy who has the IQ if an atom that is. Does that mean I get a kiss too? ;-)

Great work Gat as usual from you. I would love to see how the skin mappimg I'm working on will respond to this light, in a few more days I should have it complete and I will e-mail it to you. later.

Looks good from this angle too! I don't know which of the two angles I like best. Background and lighting look good. Again, there is the issue with the skin, but you aready know about that. How about doing a piece that is just the stone on it's own (as before) but with the lipstic pattern showing clearly on the reflective upper face.

Oh, it's Precipice. Aiko before this background gives this picture a mysterious touch - somewhat of a princes of the forest. In fact, that HDRI gave me the idea to Strange Ring (http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=2600) but later I took another one. Thank you Gat for using it, it is very helpful for me to see what can be done with my experiments.

thanks for the hdri, I will test the other one soon too. Horo do you want me to make a high resolution render of a scene so that you can turn it into an hdri? Not this scene but once where it is all bryce made. I will try and think of something interesting, maybe a woods setup like this one? But instead of pine trees I will use trees that with leafs, and I will make them yellow and red like during fall?

Well, Gat, this would certainly be worth a try. You could set up an interesting scene and make the source available to me (easiest way for you). You could also render the 6 cube faces with the camera exactly at 90? (I have sort of a tutorial about this on my web site). If the sun is behind -- or partly behind -- a tree, I would need an additional render of that cube face without the obscurring tree so I can treat the sun separately. For the higest res pano Bryce (and my programs) can handle, the cube face should be rendered at 2400 x 2400.

I think I will let you render it at the right resolutions and directions. Do you have carrara?

Yes gat, I do have Carrara 6pro but I'm a complete dummy with it. I haven't found a means to set the camera to square and exactly to a 90? angle of view. With Bryce, no problem.

You can't just select camera, then go in the right tab to set the location and rotation of the camera?

Carrara

The conical camera can only be set to 6 mm which corresponds to an angle of view of 82? (if you set it to 0.01 mm for 89.9? it snaps back to 6 mm). Rotating and tilting the camera exactly is a real pain and defies any logic, the distortions extreme. The camera "physics" are close to a real, uncorrected lens and lacks the flexibility of the Bryce camera.

However, the spherical camera does nicely - something Bryce lacks. The scene would have to be rendered with 8000 x 4000 pixels - once fully and once with the sun-obscurring object removed. Provided the aspect ratio is set correctly, Carrara can render a full 360? x 180? panorama in one sweep. I would like to see such in Bryce but Bryce can render a 360? cylindrical panorama - even as QTVR - which Carrara cannot.

hhmm I had no idea.

Ok, I got a question if I remove the object that bloacks the sun and render it again, won't it get rid of the shadows from the tree? Can I just move the tree a little in order to have the shadows?

Never mind the shadows. I just need to have the sun isolated and unobscurred. I'll blend it back using a mask. I've never done this before, but I think I know how I have to go about it.
