Beautiful model. Texturing it might prove a bit of a challenge if this is a single model.

they are all separate objects, but I used procedurals to texture them. I will be making this model public at some point :)

Nice work gat, the models look great. What do you mean by "separate objects?" Do you mean that each and every single cube is a separate object? Seems odd, not the approach I would have expected for a scene of this scale. I thought you would have built the model in Blender using the extrude function. For the Cement Jungle scenes I myself used a simple plane in truespace and I subdivided it and selected random polygon faces. I then used an extrude type of function to grow rectangluar extensions from those chosen polygon faces. These extensions of course are the buildings themselves. One plane with enough subdivided faces gives me over 100 individual buildings. But as Horo pointed out the drawback of such a system is the texturing, it's impossible to individualize the buildings when they are all part of the same exact mesh.

Another thing I really like about this so far is the atmospheric work with the fog feature. I cannot wait to see the final version. Whatever world you put this into it will look awesome with all of those reflective buildings.

thanks rashad, yeah those buildings were made the same way you described, I used a script to get some nice variation, plus additional structures on top on some of them. I would have done it for all of them, but I wanted to keep the mesh size down. I am rendering a bigger version in carrara.

thanks spektyr, it took me 2 weeks to model it, the hardest part is that I was making a copy of a 2D drawing :(

Very impressive model. Just needs a render to do it justice now. 5/5 for the model alone though!
